2021 Honda Accord Redesign

2021 Honda Accord Redesign– The 10th generation Honda Accord returns in 2018 and has remained largely unchanged since then. The 2021 Accord might see some minor updates when it comes to helping it stay fresh, but we hope the Accord remains largely the same.

2021 Honda Accord Redesign

Given that the Honda Accord follows the same schedule as the 10th generation Civic, we may see a refresher on the 2021 model. Like the Civic, which only received an updated bumper, we anticipate that this refresh will be very light. Honda understands that the Accord is a perennial top seller, so it doesn’t need much to change.

With the cabin still fresh and modern, we hope there will be no significant changes in the 2021 Accord. We expect the Accord 2021 to continue with most of the interior design that remains the same, including the floating infotainment screen, focus on the horizontal line, push-button transmission, and clean center stack. However, we can see some minor updates like an improved infotainment system and other minor items.

The Accord has never been the best looking sedan in its segment, however, with the 2018 refresh, it’s getting closer to being one. The Honda Accord 2021 is expected to look the same as the current model. There may be some enhancements being made here and there, just to give you a fresh feeling, but we ask you not to get your hopes up.
The Accord 2021 is expected to carry the same “waterfall” all-LED headlamps from the previous year’s model. Adding to this effect is an eye-catching front grille with a glossy chrome finish. On the sides, the gently sloping C-pillars blend neatly into the trunk, extending the Sportback-Esque profile to the audience.

At the rear, everything is summed up with beautifully crafted taillights that slip into the side profile of the car. In terms of dimensions, the Honda Accord 2021 should be as spacious and charming as the previous year’s model, if not more.

The luxurious dimensions translate to an equally brutal presence on the road and the spacious cabins too. The Honda Accord 2021 is expected to be like that, showcasing some of the most luxurious dimensions of all. The Ford Fusion is indeed the larger sedan, but its curbside weight and fuel-saving engine are too much of a compromise for the extra few inches of length. The Nissan Altima’s low roofline translates to a narrow seating posture, which can be uncomfortable for tall passengers.

2021 Honda Accord Interior

If you’re happy with some of the new upgrades to the Honda Accord 2021, we don’t want to disappoint you, but we won’t. However, that shouldn’t be a problem. The excellent ride quality and comfortable interior are the main reasons behind the leading sales figures in the Accord class. Therefore, even if the 2021 Accord remains unchanged, it will still be one of the best cabins in the competition.

The Accord seats will also be the same, with artificial leather upholstery in the lower trim and leather in the upper trim. Power, heating, and ventilation adjustment features will obviously be part of the package. Dual-zone climate control has always worked really well on the 2020 models even on the hottest days. Expect the Honda Accord 2021 to be just as capable, if not more.

As the numbers speak for themselves, the 2020 Honda Accord is, and has always been, the most extensive vehicle in its segment, in terms of passenger volume. The 2021 Accord won’t disappoint its predecessor either, considering that almost nothing will change. Camry also offers the second most capable cabin in its segment but slightly below its Japanese rivals. Nonetheless, some of the main interior features that are expected to be brought to the Honda Accord 2021 are:

  • Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control System
  • Power windows with Auto Up / Down feature for the front row
  • Push Button Start
  • Center Console with Armrests and Storage Compartments
  • Place the bottle front and back
  • 12 Volt mains socket
  • Steering Wheel Mounted Controls Bright
  • Rear Window Defroster
  • The driver’s and front passenger’s vanity mirrors light up
  • Telescopic Tilt and Steering Column

2021 Honda Accord Infotainment System

As seen in the 2020 model, the Honda Accord 2021 is expected to stick to the same 7.0-inch High Definition Touchscreen system that will be offered as standard across all trims. However, the list of features associated with this infotainment swells as you move up to higher trim levels. We hope that features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be offered as standard for the 2021 model year, as the world continues to expect those features in almost all today’s cars.

The transition from the touch screen system was smooth during our short session with him. However, the one on the lower trim turned out to be a bit sluggish when interacting with him. However, a higher screen placement certainly helps better visibility of the content on the screen but can obstruct the view of shorter drivers. Even so, the main features that are expected to be brought to the Honda Accord 2021 are:

  • 160 Watt Audio System
  • 4-Speaker Device
  • Android Auto
  • Apple CarPlay
  • Radio Data System (RDS)
  • 1.0 USB Audio Interface

2021 Honda Accord Engine

Because the Accord has evolved to appeal to all kinds of users with varying emotions, the folks at Honda have made sure you get the best of both worlds – luxury and performance. Since there won’t be much chance for the 2021 Honda Accord, we’d expect the same 1.5L, turbocharged, inline-4 motor to do under-the-hood stints delivering 192 HP and 192 lb-ft of torque.

The bike is offered as standard across the range and can be mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) only, using the front wheels (FWD) only. This time, no manual transmission has been offered with the Honda Accord 2021. Suppose Honda plans to keep the Civic meant for purists because there is a manual transmission offered with it!

There will also be a 2.0L, Naturally Aspirated, inline-4 motor offered with the Honda Accord 2021 which will produce 252 HP and 272 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, again, in the standard FWD setting. Unlike the Toyota Camry, there is no AWD in the Honda Accord 2021 lineup.

No CVT is offered with this NA motor. Nonetheless, even though the 1.5L motor has a low-performance figure, we really admire the punch the turbo offers as opposed to the quiet and laggy nature of the Accord’s optional 2.0L motor. However, overtaking maneuvers should cause no problems regardless of the engine you choose.

The 1.5L Accord motor is super easy to drive and if by any chance, you’ve opted for the slick 6-speed manual you’ll keep looking for excuses to stay on the road all day long! Even so, the Accord remains the only turbocharged vehicle here as well, as others in this price group bring the NA motor to the table. While not as exciting as the Accord 1.5, the Toyota Camry and Ford Fusion are two rivals who pack the ability to take the throne.

2021 Honda Accord Price and Release Date

The Honda Accord 2021 will be available later this year. If you’re following the previous release schedule, look for the arrival of fall 2020.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but with the 2021 Accord expected to get only a slight refresh, it’s likely that prices won’t stray far from the model’s current MSRP range of $ 24,975 to $ 37,205 (including destination costs).

This midsize sedan will compete with the Nissan Altima, Toyota Camry, and the Hyundai Sonata.
