2023 Ford Edge Redesign
2023 Ford Edge Redesign– The Ford Edge has been a successful model for The Blue Oval. A little bit of shocking news came to us from an interview Automotive News Canada conducted with AutoForecast Solutions, a US global forecasting and consulting firm based in the US.
Another issue at hand is Ford’s rapidly expanding family of SUVs and crossovers that might make the Edge obsolete. These include the upcoming Ford Bronco, Bronco Sport, the newly refurbished Ford Escape, and a replacement for the Ford Fusion that will essentially come as the same type of vehicle as to the current Edge – a high crossover with car-like driving characteristics.
All those new models and some that are EV and non-EV that will come in the next three to five years are all filling the same space. However, the next-generation Ford Edge may still be alive in China, where it was manufactured at the Ford Hangzhou Changan Assembly Plant for that market.
But there is one big caveat regarding the reported decision to cancel the next-generation Ford Edge. Ford Unifor’s labor contract covering the Oakville plant, the Ford Essex Engine Plant, and the Ford Windsor Engine Plant expires in September. Having said that, Fiorani noted that all of this could only be a tactic meant to gain influence in the upcoming negotiations.
There’s also that little problem. following the closure of the upcoming Romeo Engine Plant in Romeo, Michigan in 2022, Essex and Windsor will be the only plants to produce the Ford 5.0L Coyote V8 and Ford 6.2L Boss V8, which power the Ford Mustang, Ford F-150, and Ford Super Duty, so it’s unclear how he plans to continue in that regard.
As for Edge’s cousin, the Lincoln Nautilus, it will have a future, according to AFS. It’s not clear whether the SUV will remain available in North America, but analysts say production will move to factories in China in 2023.
The information above is the initial information about ford edge 2023, but to add to the reading material below we will also share information about ford edge 2021 which has been in the market today, hopefully, this information can be useful for you.
What’s New?
The entire Edge lineup received a new wheel design, and two new grays joined the palette. All models also receive acoustic coated glass on the front side windows for extra sound suppression as well as standard rear parking sensors.
Real-World Fuel Economy and MPG
The four-cylinder model is rated by the EPA for roadside at up to 29 mpg and even the sporty ST model manages to get a road rating of 26-mpg. We haven’t tested the four-cylinder with the new eight-speed automatic, but on our 200-mile highway fuel economy rounds, the ST managed 25 mpg, just 1 mpg of its promise.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Extremely spacious for four adults, the Edge cabin is a comfortable place for travel or road trips. The materials throughout the cabin are well-chosen, but the fit and finish of the panels could be better; we noticed some misaligned parts of the dashboard in our test vehicle.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard and can work over a wireless connection; Ford also offers Wi-Fi hotspots on all Edge models but navigation on the dashboard remains an optional feature.
Safety Features and Driver Assistance
The driver assistance feature is now more accessible; Several features – including automatic emergency braking, lane guard assistance, and blind-spot monitoring – are now standard. Key security features include:
- Standard automatic emergency braking
- Standard line maintenance assistance
- Standard blind-spot monitoring
